FreightCoreTMS vs Truckbase
Truckbase and FreightCoreTMS share the same pricing philosophy — per truck, not per user. So the dispatcher-cost argument that distinguishes us from AscendTMS doesn't apply here. The real divergence is integration maturity, heavy-haul capability, and how you want to be supported.
The honest setup
Truckbase has been in market longer than FreightCoreTMS, has more integrations live today, and has a track record we can't match yet. If you're a pure standard-freight carrier who needs working QuickBooks sync and ELD pulls on day one, Truckbase is the more complete answer right now. FreightCoreTMS ships 5 native load boards (123Loadboard, TruckSmarter, NextLOAD, Direct Freight, Trucker Path) as of launch; DAT remains on the roadmap.
What FreightCoreTMS offers in exchange:
- Founder pricing locked forever (sign up before Aug 10, 2027)
- Same-codebase OverSizeTMS sister product for any heavy-haul work you do
- Direct founder-led support — no tier-1 queue
- A roadmap that responds to your specific input because we're small enough to do that

Where Truckbase wins
- You need integrations today, not later. Truckbase has QuickBooks sync, ELD, DAT, and fuel cards all running in production. FreightCoreTMS ships with fuel card sync (WEX, EFS-Comdata, Comdata, Mudflap) AND 5 native load boards (123Loadboard, TruckSmarter, NextLOAD, Direct Freight, Trucker Path) live at launch; QuickBooks and ELD are on the 2026 roadmap. DAT is on the roadmap post-launch. If QuickBooks or ELD would block you on day one, Truckbase is the right answer.
- You need a vendor track record. Truckbase has been around 5 years and has paying customers in production. FreightCoreTMS is launching in 2026. If your CFO needs the vendor to have 5+ years of uptime history before signing, FreightCoreTMS doesn't clear that bar yet.
- You want a driver app that's been in production for years. Truckbase's native driver app has been live and iterated on with paying carriers since well before our launch. FreightCoreTMS ships both a mobile-responsive driver portal today AND a native iOS/Android app at launch — same data, same login, drivers choose — but Truckbase's app has the longer track record on the App Store.
- You're a pure standard-freight carrier with no heavy-haul work, ever. If you'll never run a permit, never need a pilot car, never haul anything over legal dimensions — the OverSize sister product is wasted on you and you're better off picking the tool with the most integrations today.
Where FreightCoreTMS wins
- You also run heavy haul (or plan to). No mainstream TMS has a permit workflow, an escort rule engine for all 50 states, a pilot car coordination layer, or a route survey module built in. FreightCoreTMS does — via the same-codebase OverSizeTMS sister product. Same login, same dashboard, same customer book. If 1 truck out of every 10 in your fleet ever runs heavy haul, this is the differentiator. See OverSizeTMS.
- You want Founder pricing locked forever. Sign up before Aug 10, 2027, and your monthly rate is locked at the Founder level for as long as your account stays active. No annual increases, no surprise repricing when QuickBooks / ELD integrations ship. Truckbase has no equivalent.
- You want the founder on your support calls. Every FreightCoreTMS customer gets direct email/call to the founder for support — no script-reading tier-1 queue. That model only scales to a few hundred customers; once we're at scale, we can't keep doing it. Get in while we can.
- You're price-sensitive at the small end. FreightCoreTMS Solo is $74/mo (Founder rate). Truckbase's entry tier is typically higher. For 1-truck owner-operators, the math works in FreightCoreTMS' favor.
Quick decision matrix
- You run pure dry van or reefer freight, need integrations day one: Pick Truckbase.
- Your CFO requires 5+ years of vendor track record: Pick Truckbase.
- You run any heavy haul / oversize / overweight freight: Pick FreightCoreTMS + OverSizeTMS.
- You want a Founder rate locked forever, OK with some integrations still on the roadmap: Pick FreightCoreTMS.
- 1-truck owner-operator, $74/mo matters: Pick FreightCoreTMS Solo.
- Mid-size growing fleet (8–20 trucks), pure standard freight, prefer the more complete tool today: Pick Truckbase.
- Mid-size growing fleet (8–20 trucks), mix of standard + heavy haul: Pick FreightCoreTMS + OverSizeTMS.
A note on integration timing
The biggest knock on FreightCoreTMS today is integration maturity. Here's the honest plan:
- QuickBooks Online OAuth sync — ships before the Founder pricing window closes (Aug 10, 2027). Founder customers get it included. CSV export works for now and won't go away.
- Samsara ELD — in development with a provider-abstraction layer so Motive and Geotab can slot in after. Estimated 2026 ship.
- 5 native load boards — shipped at launch: 123Loadboard, TruckSmarter, NextLOAD, Direct Freight, Trucker Path (BYOK). DAT search and rate-look-up in the planning stage. 2026 ship post-launch.
- Stripe — already shipped. ACH + card billing for both subscriptions and customer invoice payments.
- Fuel card sync — already shipped (WEX FleetSmart, EFS-Comdata, Comdata, Mudflap). Webhook receiver auto-creates fuel purchases, maps to equipment by card number, feeds IFTA reporting.
- FMCSA SAFER lookup — already shipped. Direct integration on the carrier form.
- Google Maps / OpenStreetMap routing — already shipped.
- Resend / DKIM email — already shipped, with branded sender domain support.
If the missing integration on your shortlist is QuickBooks or ELD specifically, that's a 6–12 month FreightCoreTMS roadmap question. Truckbase has them today. Truckbase wins.
If the missing integration is EDI 204/210/214 — that's not on the FreightCoreTMS 2026 roadmap at all. If you need it, pick a different TMS. But fuel cards? WEX FleetSmart is live today.
The honest, hardest case for FreightCoreTMS: a 5-truck pure-dry-van carrier with active QuickBooks usage and an existing Samsara ELD account. Truckbase plugs into that stack on day one. FreightCoreTMS asks you to wait 6–12 months for parity. We're transparent about that trade.
If heavy haul is in your mix, the trade flips.
OverSizeTMS is included with every FreightCoreTMS plan. Permits, escort rules for all 50 states + DC, pilot car coordination, route surveys. Truckbase doesn't have this. Nothing in the mainstream TMS market does.
